Russian attack on civilian ship in Odesa kills one, injures three
A Russian attack on a civilian ship flying the Liberian flag in Odesa, Ukraine, killed one sailor and injured three crew members, according to Ukraine's Maritime Ports Administration. The incident occurred on Saturday in the southern port city. The sailor died in the engine room, while three other crew members were wounded. The administration condemned the "deliberate attack on civilian navigation," stating Russia continues to terrorize the merchant fleet and sailors who risk their lives daily to keep Ukrainian sea routes operational. The attack follows a similar Russian strike on a Palau-flagged vessel in the Odesa region on Monday, which President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denounced. Eleven days earlier, an attack on a Tanzania-flagged ship in the Black Sea killed its captain and injured three others.
