Ukraine's military strikes Russian targets in Donetsk, Belgorod, and Kherson
Ukraine's military reported striking multiple Russian military targets over the past two days, including a drone launch site, a command post, and a river crossing, while Russia's Defense Ministry claimed to have shot down over 1,000 Ukrainian drones in the same period. The Ukrainian General Staff said Saturday it hit a storage, preparation, and launch site for attack drones near occupied Donetsk, a Russian command post in Belgorod region, a logistics depot, a crossing over the Mokrye Yaly River, and a repair base in Kherson region. The strikes aim to reduce Russia's ability to use drones against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure. On October 1, Ukrainian forces destroyed Russian drone warehouses, struck a Russian ship in the Black Sea, and hit an oil refinery in Samara region. Russia's Defense Ministry reported intercepting 218 drones overnight across 13 regions and annexed Crimea, with 855 more downed the previous day, though it did not specify how many reached their targets.
