Russia warns foreigners against travel to Ukraine as strikes continue

dp.ru (Russian) —

Russia's Foreign Ministry issued a repeated warning for foreign citizens, including diplomatic staff, to avoid travel to and presence in Ukraine, citing continued Russian military strikes and stating that those ignoring the warning bear full responsibility for any consequences. The ministry said Russian Armed Forces will keep conducting massive "retaliation strikes" on military targets in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities in response to Ukrainian attacks on Russian civilians and infrastructure. It noted that several countries, including the US, UK, and EU members, have also advised their citizens against travel to Ukraine. The warning follows a similar statement from May 25, 2026, which urged foreigners to leave Kyiv, and came after Russia announced systematic strikes on Ukrainian defense industry facilities. The strikes were triggered by a May 22, 2026 attack on a college in Luhansk that killed 21 students and injured 65.
