SBU drone strike destroys two Russian fighter jets at Khanskaya airbase

pravda.com.ua (Ukrainian) —

Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) struck two Russian fighter jets, a Su-35 and a Su-34, in a drone attack on the "Khanskaya" airbase in Russia's Adygea region. The combined value of the destroyed aircraft is over $150 million. The attack occurred on the night of October 4, with SBU's "Alpha" special operations center using drones that traveled about 500 kilometers to the target. Both aircraft were carriers of guided aerial bombs used by Russia against Ukrainian cities and front-line positions. The Su-35 is a multirole fighter with an estimated export value of $100 million, while the Su-34 fighter-bomber is valued at around $50 million. This follows recent Ukrainian strikes on Russian aircraft, including a Tu-95MS bomber in Engels and another Su-34 in Akhtubinsk.
