Ukraine still pushing for German Taurus missiles, Zelensky says

rbc.ua (Ukrainian) —

Ukraine is still trying to obtain German Taurus long-range cruise missiles, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky, who said Kyiv is doing everything possible to secure the weapons. Zelensky stated the issue remains on the agenda and that he discussed it with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz during the latter's visit to Kyiv on October 4. He emphasized that Ukraine needs all support, comparing the missile request to sanctions, and stressed the importance of sharing wartime experience and technology with allies in exchange for military aid. The president noted the biggest deficit is in ballistic missile defense systems, adding that Taurus deliveries would serve as a signal of genuine partnership. He said he will not give up and will continue negotiations on the missile supply.
