Russia Vows to Intensify Strikes on Ukrainian Military and Energy Targets
Russia's Defense Ministry announced Sunday it will intensify strikes on military, industrial, and related infrastructure targets in Kyiv and other Ukrainian regions, responding directly to President Volodymyr Zelensky's recent threats. Zelensky stated Saturday in a Reuters interview that Ukraine would escalate attacks on Russian oil refineries in response to Moscow's new aerial campaign aimed at forcing civilians to flee Kyiv and other cities, while insisting civilians would not be targeted. Russia has recently ramped up strikes on Ukrainian capital infrastructure, including bridges over the Dnipro River, severely disrupting life for Kyiv's 3 million residents ahead of winter. Both nations deny targeting civilians.
