Ukraine to deploy small missiles against Russian jet drones by late October

Ukraine will begin using small missiles against Russian jet-powered drones by the end of October, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Sunday, October 4. Zelenskyy said several types of small missiles are in development, with results expected in the second half of the month. Mass production will depend on their effectiveness. He noted current interception rates for Russian jet drones are between 50% and 60%. Zelenskyy also said Ukraine is working to supply F-16 fighter jets with 5,000-6,000 20mm rounds daily, thanking Germany for support. He mentioned ongoing contacts with Poland, France, Norway, and Finland to increase ammunition supplies.
