Kyiv morning traffic jams hit bridges across the Dnipro River

obozrevatel.com (Ukrainian) —

Kyiv experienced massive traffic jams on Monday morning, October 5, with the most severe congestion on routes from the left to the right bank of the Dnipro River, according to media reports and Google Maps. Traffic was blocked on approaches to the Pivdennyi (Southern) Bridge toward the right bank, while the opposite direction was freer. Slow movement was also reported on the Pivnichnyi (Northern) Bridge, which was attacked by a Russian drone the day before, as well as on the Patona, Darnytskyi, and Metro bridges. Accidents across the city and delays in public transport compounded the situation. Authorities recently revised metro operations on the green line during air alerts, allowing trains to run on the surface section under a "yellow" threat level to transport passengers between the riverbanks. The red line cannot operate under such conditions due to passenger safety concerns.
