Russian strikes hit Kyiv's North Bridge, mayor says

lapresse.ca (French) —

Russian strikes hit Kyiv's important North Bridge on Saturday, Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced, days after the South Bridge was attacked. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene. The bridge's road surface and trolleybus cables were damaged, and traffic was halted in the left-bank-to-right-bank direction across the Dnieper River. A drone alert had been triggered earlier in the city. This marks the second major Kyiv bridge attacked recently, following Thursday and Friday drone strikes on the South Bridge that caused its closure and massive traffic jams. Kyiv has feared attacks on its eight key road and rail bridges since Russia's 2022 invasion.
