Ukraine says over 51% of Russia's oil refining capacity disabled

ua.korrespondent.net (Ukrainian) —

Ukraine's Defense Ministry reported that over 51% of Russia's oil refining capacity has been disabled as a result of Ukrainian long-range strikes, according to a statement made on Sunday, October 4. The assessment was announced by Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara. The strikes targeted major facilities including the Moscow, Yaroslavl, KINEF, Ust-Luga, and Perm refineries. Khmara stated the operations were systematic efforts to weaken Russia's military-economic potential and its ability to sustain aggression, calling the damage a significant blow to the enemy's economy. Khmara also highlighted the development of long-range strike drones as a ministry priority, noting that Ukraine has tripled production and procurement of such weapons this year. He said these capabilities will continue to be scaled up to move the war deeper into Russian territory.
