Ukraine and Germany sign drone-defense cooperation declaration
Ukraine and Germany signed a joint declaration on October 4 to cooperate in countering drone systems, announced Ukrainian Interior Minister Ivan Vyhovsky. The agreement was signed during German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's visit to Kyiv. The declaration aims to protect critical infrastructure, with experts from both ministries forming a joint group to exchange experience and implement projects. Additionally, Ukraine's National Guard signed a drone supply contract, and the State Emergency Service partnered with German company Alpha Robotics Germany on firefighting robotics. Vyhovsky expressed gratitude for Germany's support against Russian aggression. Earlier that morning, President Volodymyr Zelensky and the German delegation visited a building of the National Academy of Sciences destroyed by a strike, where officials discussed response efforts.
