Ukraine's FP-9 ballistic missile, able to hit Moscow, to be ready this autumn
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the domestic ballistic missile FP-9, capable of reaching Moscow, will be ready this autumn. Zelensky said he called manufacturer Fire Point to urge completion of the longer-range FP-9 model, following Ukraine's first combat use of the FP-7 missile with a 250 km range. He also noted F-16 and MiG fighters intercepted about 60% of Russian jet drones, but 20mm ammunition stocks are nearly exhausted. Ukraine is urgently developing alternative solutions, including electronic warfare capabilities and small, inexpensive air-defense missiles expected in late October. Zelensky added that tests of two new interceptor models showed roughly 30% success, requiring further scaling.
