Russia struck Kharkiv with missiles overnight on October 5, hitting the Industrial District. One person was killed and at least six others were injured, according to Ukraine's State Emergency Service. The attack sparked a fire in a two-story administrative building, damaging residential and industrial structures, as well as cars. Rescuers extinguished the blaze by morning, with firefighters, pyrotechnicians, psychologists, police, medics, and volunteers working at the scene. Separately, presidential advisor Serhiy Beskrestnov advised Kyiv residents to stay away from windows during air alerts and mentioned the installation of automatic turrets in the capital to counter Shahed drones.
