Ukraine's FP-9 ballistic missile will be ready this autumn, says Zelensky

nv.ua (Ukrainian) —

President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine's domestically produced FP-9 ballistic missile, capable of reaching Moscow, will be ready this autumn. The FP-9 is being developed by the company Fire Point. Zelensky said he urged the manufacturer to speed up work on the longer-range model following the first combat use of the shorter-range FP-7 missile, which has a range of about 250 kilometers. Ukraine announced the successful frontline deployment of the FP-7 on October 1. Fire Point's chief designer previously suggested the FP-9 could target energy facilities in Moscow, while former defense minister Mykhailo Fedorov gave a more cautious forecast of a launch by the end of 2026.
