Ukraine's FP-9 missile with Moscow range to be ready by autumn, Zelensky says
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the domestically produced FP-9 ballistic missile, capable of reaching Moscow, will be ready this autumn. The statement was made in a Reuters interview. This follows Ukraine's announcement of the first combat use of its FP-7 ballistic missile, which has a range of about 250 kilometers. Zelensky said he urged the manufacturer Fire Point to speed up work on the longer-range FP-9 model. Zelensky also noted that Ukraine relies heavily on F-16 and MiG fighters to intercept Russian drones, but 20-millimeter ammunition stocks are nearly exhausted. Kyiv is working on electronic warfare solutions and expects a first batch of small, inexpensive air defense missiles in the second half of October.
