SBU strikes two Russian fighter jets at Adygea airfield 500 km away

Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) said it struck two Russian fighter jets at the Khanskaya airfield in Adygea, Russia, overnight on October 4. The attack targeted a Su-35 and a Su-34, located approximately 500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The SBU stated that drones from its Alpha special operations center hit the Su-35 multirole fighter, valued at around $100 million, and the Su-34 fighter-bomber, worth about $50 million. An ammunition depot at the airfield was also damaged. Both aircraft types are carriers of guided aerial bombs used by Russian forces. Separately, on October 4, Ukraine's General Staff reported striking a Russian Buk-M3 air defense system in the Zaporizhzhia region. On October 3, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian forces had hit positions of Iskander missile crews in Russia's Bryansk region.
