Kyiv updates bridge traffic rules during air raid alerts

pravda.com.ua (Ukrainian) —

Kyiv has updated traffic rules for bridges across the Dnieper River during air raid alerts, with restrictions now applying to the Southern and Podilsko-Voskresensky bridges. The Kyiv City Military Administration announced the changes. On the Southern Bridge, traffic from the right to the left bank will be restricted for 15 minutes from the moment an alert is announced, then resumed. Traffic from the left to the right bank will proceed without restrictions. Access to the Southern Bridge toward the left bank will be from Stolychnoye and Naddnepryanskoye highways, as well as from the Vydubychi bus station side. On the Podilsko-Voskresensky Bridge, traffic will stop in both directions for 15 minutes after an alert is announced and again after the all-clear, then fully resume. Traffic on other Dnieper bridges will continue without restrictions during alerts. These rules follow recent drone strikes near the Southern Bridge's support structure on October 1, which halted metro and ground transport for inspections. The administration reported damage to the support, road surface, and concrete protection of metro tracks. The Kyiv metro is ready to resume train service across the Southern Bridge during yellow-level alerts, pending an expert assessment of its condition.
