Ukraine's air defense neutralized 172 of 205 Russian drones launched since the evening of October 4, though some strikes were recorded, and the attack is ongoing. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that 172 Shahed, Gerbera, and other drones were shot down or suppressed by 8:00 AM. Strikes hit 13 locations, with debris falling at 3 more sites. Russia launched drones from Orel, Kursk, Shatalovo, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and occupied Donetsk and Crimea. Forty-nine drones were jet-powered. Aviation, missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups repelled the attack, with about ten drones still in Ukrainian airspace.
