Russia's Astrakhan airport restricts flights, third in south to do so
Russia's Astrakhan airport Narimanovo has introduced temporary restrictions on flight arrivals and departures, according to a Rosaviatsia Telegram post at 1:54 AM, citing flight safety guarantees. This marks the third southern Russian airport to impose such measures. Similar restrictions were previously implemented at Sochi airport, where they were introduced for the fourth time that day starting at 11:19 PM, and at Volgograd airport, where they took effect at 12:02 AM. Moscow's Vnukovo airport began operating flights under coordination with relevant authorities overnight. Flight schedules may be partially adjusted, with statuses available on online airport boards. Shortly afterward, six drones were destroyed near Moscow. A Rosaviatsia representative had earlier been stuck on a plane for several hours.
