Kyiv installs 12 turrets to counter jet drones, 8 more for region
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that over 12 automatic combat turrets have been installed in Kyiv to counter jet-powered drones, with eight more modules planned for the Kyiv region. He made the statement during a joint press appearance with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, as reported by Ukrinform. The turrets are automatic combat modules designed for 50-caliber machine guns. Zelensky confirmed the installations while responding to questions about protection against jet-powered UAVs, stating that the additional eight units would be deployed to the Kyiv region. The announcement follows a Russian attack on the Northern Bridge in Kyiv on the morning of October 4, after which Zelensky published video footage of the strike on the bridge.
