Russia Strikes Kyiv Bridge for Third Day, Cutting Key Dnipro Crossing
Russia attacked another key bridge in Kyiv overnight, blocking traffic on the North Bridge and severing the link between the capital's western and eastern banks over the Dnipro River. Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed the closure on Telegram. This marks the third consecutive day of strikes on Kyiv's bridges, following recent drone attacks on the South Bridge. An aviation expert told The Kyiv Independent that destroying such steel bridges is practically impossible, suggesting Russia aims to disrupt daily life instead. The attacks have increased pressure on residents, many of whom live east of the river but work in the west, causing major traffic jams. Kyiv saw nearly double the attacks in September compared to August, with strikes also damaging homes and symbolic sites.
