Kyiv traffic jams after Russian drone strikes on bridges

nv.ua (Ukrainian) —

Kyiv experienced major traffic jams on Monday morning, October 5, following restrictions on bridge traffic after a series of Russian drone strikes. The most difficult movement was reported from the left to the right bank of the city. Congestion began around 7:00 AM, with cars stalled on the Pivdennyi Bridge toward the right bank. Traffic was also complicated on the Pivnichnyi, Darnytskyi, Patona, and Metro bridges, causing public transport delays. Bus routes 22, 91, 110, 111, and 112 resumed with schedule deviations after the Podilskyi Bridge crossing was closed on October 4. Since October 1, Russian forces have struck Kyiv bridges with drones, damaging a support on the Pivdennyi Bridge and creating a hole on the Pivnichnyi Bridge. Authorities have restricted traffic, causing a transport collapse. Ukrzaliznytsia launched 18 additional shuttle trains on the Vydubychi–Darnytsia route starting October 5 to improve connectivity between banks.
