Ukraine strikes Russian drone launch base in Oryol Oblast, satellite confirms fires

obozrevatel.com (Ukrainian) —

Ukraine's defense forces launched a massive attack on Russia's Oryol Oblast overnight, targeting the "Tsymbulova" drone launch base, where multiple fires broke out, as confirmed by satellite monitoring. The attack occurred on the night of October 3, with NASA FIRMS satellite data recording several fire hotspots starting at 1:33 AM near the storage, preparation, and launch site at coordinates 53°22'01.06"N 35°49'12.57"E. The Telegram channel Falcon Insight reported the strike. Russia has regularly used the Tsymbulova base for drone attacks against Ukraine. In late September, reports indicated Russia was continuously expanding this drone hub, which Ukraine has now targeted with its own countermeasures.
