Ukrainian drones strike Russia's Tsimbulovo drone base in Oryol region, causing fire

nv.ua (Ukrainian) —

Drones attacked one of Russia's largest drone launch bases, Tsimbulovo, in the Oryol region overnight on Saturday, October 3, sparking a fire, according to the Telegram channel Exilenova+. NASA FIRMS satellite monitoring detected multiple fire hotspots near the facility starting around 01:33, in areas used for storing, preparing, and launching unmanned aerial vehicles. The base is a major Russian military complex for housing and launching strike drones. This follows a Ukrainian strike on the same base on September 21, which may have hit two drone bunkers and launch sites. As of August 2026, the base reportedly had 16 launch systems and over 100 drones ready for use against Ukraine.
