Russia hits second major Kyiv bridge, mayor says
Russia struck a second major bridge in Kyiv on Saturday, damaging the Northern Bridge's road surface and trolleybus wires, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said, blocking traffic. The attack follows repeated drone strikes on the Southern Bridge on Thursday and Friday. The Northern and Southern bridges, which connect the capital's eastern and western parts, had not been hit before Thursday, signaling a new phase in Moscow's attacks. The Southern Bridge strikes have suspended metro and car travel, causing major disruption for the city's three million residents. Klitschko warned the city faces a "very dramatic situation" as Russia targets critical infrastructure, logistics, and housing. President Vladimir Putin said the strikes respond to Ukraine's attacks on Russian energy facilities, while President Volodymyr Zelensky said Putin decided "there are no rules now."
