Russian strikes damage Kyiv's North Bridge, two days after South Bridge attack
Russian strikes damaged Kyiv's North Bridge on Saturday, two days after an attack on the South Bridge, Ukrainian capital's mayor Vitali Klitschko announced. Emergency services were dispatched, and the bridge was closed to traffic in one direction. The attack damaged the road surface and trolleybus cables, following a drone alert in the city. The South Bridge was hit Thursday and Friday by Russian drones, causing its closure and massive traffic jams in the Dnieper-divided metropolis. Kyiv has feared attacks on its eight main road and rail bridges since Russia's 2022 invasion, as they are vital to the capital's logistics. Traffic was also restricted on the Paton and Metro bridges Friday, with temporary limits on a fourth, Darnytsky.
