Russian strikes damage Kyiv's North Bridge, two days after South Bridge attack
Russian strikes damaged Kyiv's North Bridge on Saturday, two days after an attack on the South Bridge, according to Ukrainian capital's mayor, Vitali Klitschko. The road surface and trolleybus cables were hit, and traffic was halted in one direction across the Dnieper River. The South Bridge was struck by Russian drones on Thursday and Friday, forcing its closure and causing massive traffic jams in the city, which is divided by the Dnieper. Emergency services responded to the North Bridge after a drone alert was issued earlier in the city. Kyiv has feared attacks on its eight main road and rail bridges since Russia's 2022 invasion, as they are vital to the capital's logistics. Authorities also restricted traffic on the Paton and Metro bridges on Friday, with temporary limits on a fourth bridge, Darnytsky, observed by AFP journalists.
