Russian strikes damage Kyiv's North Bridge two days after South Bridge attack

republicain-lorrain.fr (French) —

Russian strikes damaged Kyiv's North Bridge on Saturday, two days after an attack on the South Bridge, Ukrainian capital's mayor Vitali Klitschko announced. Emergency services were dispatched, and the bridge was closed to traffic in one direction. Klitschko reported damage to the road surface and trolleybus cables on the North Bridge. A drone alert had been declared earlier. The South Bridge was hit Thursday and Friday by Russian drones, causing its closure and major traffic jams. Kyiv has feared attacks on its eight main road and rail bridges since Russia's 2022 invasion. Traffic was also restricted on the Paton and Metro bridges Friday, with temporary limits on a fourth bridge, Darnytsky, observed by AFP.
