Russian strike on Kyiv kills one, damages Dnieper bridge again
A Russian attack on Kyiv killed at least one person and damaged the Pivdeni bridge over the Dnieper River, marking the second strike on the structure in under 24 hours. The capital's military administration reported the death from a strike on a residential building in the Darnitsia district, damaging a 25-story structure. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said a drone hit the bridge's support structure, roadway, and metro barrier. All three Kyiv bridges are fully or partially closed to traffic. On Thursday, two drones near the bridge forced a temporary closure, with traffic resuming after inspections. Russia rejected a mutual suspension of long-range strikes, as both sides increasingly target civilian infrastructure, including warehouses, data centers, and refineries.
