Kyiv restricts transport on three bridges after overnight attacks
Kyiv restricted public transport across three bridges on October 2 following overnight attacks. The Southern Bridge and Paton Bridge were closed in both directions, while traffic on the Metro Bridge was limited toward the right bank. Buses No. 22 and 91 were rerouted via the Darnytskyi Bridge, as were buses No. 51, 55, 115, and 118-D. Trolleybuses ran shortened routes, and bus No. 1-M used the Podilskyi Bridge. By 07:10, the Metro Bridge reopened fully, with bus No. 1-M returning to its normal route but running off schedule. By 07:55, Mayor Vitali Klitschko clarified that the Southern Bridge remained fully closed, Paton Bridge was closed only from right to left bank, and one lane on the Metro Bridge was restricted. Russian strikes hit the Southern Bridge overnight, damaging a 25-story building in the Darnytskyi district, while a previous evening attack damaged the bridge's road surface and metro protective barriers.
