Russian Strike Kills Two Ukrainian Police Officers in Dnipropetrovsk Region

Two Ukrainian police officers were killed in Russia's repeated strike on the Dnipropetrovsk region, according to regional military administration head Oleksandr Hanzha on the morning of September 4. The officers, 40-year-old Oleksandr Hryhorenko and 27-year-old Serhii Shmatko, had been documenting the aftermath of a previous Russian attack in the Pavlohrad district when a second drone strike hit. Hryhorenko died at the scene, while Shmatko succumbed to severe wounds in hospital; a third officer remains hospitalized in serious condition. The previous evening, Hanzha reported four wounded in the Nikopol district and one in Pavlohrad, plus one death and nine injuries from a strike on a Nova Poshta depot. Russia regularly attacks Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure, which Ukrainian authorities and international organizations classify as war crimes.
