Putin: No Broader Ceasefire Agreed With Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Russia and Ukraine did not agree on a broader ceasefire beyond halting attacks on capitals, during Kremlin talks with US negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Putin stated Russia halted strikes on Kyiv for three days starting September 5, adding that Ukrainian forces significantly reduced attacks on Russian territory. He noted Moscow saw Kyiv's appeal but it was never discussed. Putin assured the US envoys that Russia would do everything to ensure the safety of the negotiation process and mediators. Earlier, he said President Donald Trump continues efforts to contribute to resolving the Ukraine conflict.
