U.S. envoys Witkoff and Kushner head to Moscow and Kyiv for Ukraine war talks

U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will travel to Moscow and Kyiv on September 5-6 for new diplomatic efforts on the Ukraine war, according to a TASS source. The pair is expected to arrive in Moscow first before heading to Kyiv, with Ukrainian official Oleksiy Goncharenko saying they may reach the capital on Sunday. The visit follows ongoing U.S. contacts with both Russia and Ukraine on conflict settlement. Moscow has welcomed the envoys, with Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov calling them "always welcome guests" and desirable interlocutors for President Vladimir Putin, signaling continued U.S.-Russia communication channels on Ukraine.
