US envoys meet Putin in Moscow to revive Ukraine peace talks

U.S. special representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, aiming to revive diplomatic efforts to end the Ukraine war. They will also visit Kyiv on Sept. 6 to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev greeted the pair at Vnukovo Airport. The visit follows CIA Director John Ratcliffe's unannounced Moscow trip, and Putin ordered a three-day pause in strikes on Kyiv starting Sept. 5.
