Russia tells US to face battlefield reality in Ukraine talks

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said the US administration must consider the changing situation on the ground, which is not in Kyiv's favor, when settling the Ukrainian conflict. He made the statement to TASS while commenting on the upcoming visit of US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner to Moscow. Ryabkov stressed that the key question is how ready the US administration is to seek a real solution to the crisis, taking into account both root causes and the constantly shifting realities on the ground. The envoys plan to visit Moscow and Kyiv on September 5 and 6, starting with the Russian capital. Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Moscow remains open to dialogue with Washington through US presidential special representatives, but emphasized the importance of what proposals they bring. President Vladimir Putin is reportedly ready to receive them again.
