Zelensky: Ukraine to respond to Russian strikes on Boryspil and Zhuliany airports

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia's overnight strikes on civilian airports in Boryspil and Zhuliany will be answered under a newly announced operation targeting Russian airspace. He called the attacks a demonstrative reaction to U.S. peace efforts. Zelensky said the strikes were a response to preparations for U.S. President Donald Trump's special representatives to fly into Kyiv, targeting airports "Kyiv" and "Boryspil" with Russian-Iranian Shahed drones. He confirmed five workers were killed in Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region, with five more wounded, and residential buildings and shopping centers damaged across multiple regions. The president emphasized Ukraine remains committed to diplomacy and peace, but Russia will face consequences for its actions. He said the operation regarding Russian airspace will be adjusted next week, while Kyiv has reportedly sent ceasefire proposals to Moscow via Putin.
