Trump envoys Witkoff and Kushner arrive in Moscow with Ukraine peace plan

President Trump's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow with a peace proposal to end the war in Ukraine, according to Russian media reports. The envoys flew from Miami on a US Air Force plane with a stopover in Helsinki before landing at Moscow's Vnukovo airport. They are expected to meet Kirill Dmitriyev, Russia's special representative, to assess whether progress toward ending the conflict is possible. Trump praised the envoys as excellent negotiators. The pair last visited Moscow in January, and plan to travel to Kyiv afterward, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expecting them on September 6. Zelensky pledged to pause drone strikes during the visit, but Russian forces bombed Ukrainian regions overnight regardless.
