Putin orders three-day pause on strikes on Kyiv from September 6 to 9

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has ordered a three-day pause in strikes on Kyiv from September 6 to 9, according to the Kremlin, which linked the move to upcoming meetings in the Ukrainian capital involving American negotiators. The directive took effect at midnight on September 6 and applies exclusively to Kyiv, with no mention of a broader ceasefire covering other Ukrainian cities or regions. Ukrainian official Andrei Kovalenko noted the pause excludes the Kyiv region and other areas, calling it insufficient. Ukraine has previously proposed a full ceasefire on the front line and in the air, but Moscow has not responded to the offer, according to Ukrainian presidential office head Kirill Budanov.
