Putin says Russia agreed to no more than three-day ceasefire with Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia did not agree with Ukraine on a ceasefire lasting more than three days, while claiming Russian forces did not strike targets in Kyiv starting from midnight on September 5. Putin made the remarks during a meeting with US President Donald Trump's envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. He acknowledged that Ukrainian forces also significantly reduced the number of attacks on Russia, including on Moscow, and said the demand to halt strikes on Kyiv came through official channels. Putin added that Moscow is comfortable working with Witkoff and Kushner, citing high trust in their mediation, and pledged to ensure security for negotiations. Separately, Russian drone attacks on Khmelnytskyi injured seven people, including a minor.
