FSB agent likely guided Shahed strike on Kyiv SBU building, says Flash

A Russian strike on the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) building in Kyiv may have been a pre-planned operation involving an FSB agent who used a radio relay to guide the drone. Advisor Sergei "Flash" Beskrestnov stated the "Shahed" was likely controlled online via a MESH repeater placed within 5 km of the target. The attack on September 4, 2026, hit the SBU chief's office, causing structural damage and a fire, though the official was unharmed. Beskrestnov noted the relay device is small, about half a school backpack, and no other drones were in the air to enable alternative guidance. Russia has used jet-powered "Shaheds" in waves of strikes on Kyiv since August 27, complicating interception due to higher speed and altitude. President Zelensky called the strike terrorism and ordered a mirror response, while the SBU vowed to restore the building and target enemy agent networks.
