Putin and US envoys hold constructive talks on Ukraine in Moscow

Russian President Vladimir Putin met US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in the Kremlin yesterday for talks on the war in Ukraine, with no concrete agreements announced afterward. The meeting lasted over three hours, and Putin's foreign affairs adviser Yuri Ushakov described the discussions as "constructive, frank, and useful," adding they also covered economic issues and potential joint projects. Putin asked the envoys to convey greetings to President Trump and called the situation in Ukraine "not simple." Witkoff and Kushner are expected in Kyiv today to meet Ukrainian President Zelensky. Putin and Zelensky have pledged not to attack each other's capitals while negotiations continue. The war began over four and a half years ago with Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine.
