Witkoff and Kushner likely to visit Kyiv on Sunday

US President Donald Trump's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will most likely visit Ukraine this Sunday, September 6, according to RBC-Ukraine citing a source on Friday, September 4. The source could not specify how the envoys would travel to Kyiv, saying the details are still being worked out. Earlier on September 4, The Kyiv Independent reported the visit was in question due to Witkoff's security concerns amid Russian attacks. On August 24, President Volodymyr Zelensky said Kyiv, Trump's representatives, and European officials developed a new joint plan to end the war, including a ceasefire, mutual troop withdrawal, and a buffer zone. On August 31, Zelensky discussed the visit date and frontline situation with Witkoff and Kushner by phone.
