Zelensky Offers Putin a Ceasefire Ahead of Trump Envoys' Visit
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Friday that Ukraine will pause airstrikes against Russia during the visit of US envoys to Moscow, and called on Russia to reciprocate during their stop in Kiev on Sunday. Zelensky said there would be no Ukrainian airstrikes and demanded Russia ensure a reciprocal ceasefire for the duration of the negotiations. Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are making their first visit to Kiev as part of diplomatic efforts to end the war. The announcement came hours after a Russian drone struck the SBU security service headquarters in central Kiev, injuring twelve people. President Trump said the envoys were sent to see if progress could be made, noting "a good chance" for success.
