U.S. envoys visit Moscow to revive Russia-Ukraine peace talks

U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow on Saturday to revive stalled peace efforts to end Russia's five-year invasion of Ukraine, as both sides escalated aerial attacks. The visit follows a January Kremlin meeting with President Vladimir Putin, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he expects the envoys in Kyiv on Sunday, offering to halt Ukrainian airstrikes during the trip. Washington's push has lost momentum amid its six-month war with Iran. Russia intensified bombardments on Kyiv and other cities, including a Friday drone strike on Ukraine's SBU security service headquarters. Overnight, Russia launched 167 drones and ballistic missiles, while Ukrainian strikes wounded three in Russia's Belgorod region.
