Russia strikes Kyiv and Boryspol airports before US envoys' visit, Zelenskyy says

Russia launched overnight strikes on airports in Kyiv and Boryspil ahead of a planned visit by US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Saturday. The attacks killed four people and wounded five at a civilian facility in Kamianske. Zelenskyy linked the strikes to preparations for the American delegation's possible arrival by aircraft, calling them demonstrative and deliberate. He had pledged no Ukrainian airstrikes during the visit and urged Russia to do the same. Ukraine's air force reported 167 attack drones and ballistic missiles launched overnight. The visit aims to revive peace talks amid intensified aerial attacks along the 1,250-kilometre front line. Zelenskyy warned Ukraine would adjust its operations in Russian airspace next week in response to the strikes.
