Trump envoys Witkoff and Kushner arrive in Moscow to revive Russia-Ukraine peace talks

US President Donald Trump's envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow on Saturday for talks with Russian officials, before a planned visit to Kyiv on Sunday, in a new push to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Trump said they are carrying a proposal to end the conflict, though he declined to disclose details. The envoys aim to break a deadlock that has stalled previous peace efforts in Europe's deadliest conflict since World War II. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Moscow of undermining the diplomatic effort through overnight strikes on Kyiv's airports and an attack in the Dnipro region that killed five people. The initiative comes as peace efforts have been disrupted by the US conflict with Iran and as both sides have stepped up long-range attacks. Zelenskyy proposed a temporary halt to Ukrainian airstrikes during the envoys' visit and called on Russia to reciprocate, but Moscow had not immediately responded.
