Russian Drone Strike Hits Ukraine's SBU Headquarters in Kyiv, Injuring 12

A Russian drone strike hit the headquarters of Ukraine's SBU security service in central Kyiv on Friday, injuring 12 people, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The drone directly targeted the office of the agency's chief. Zelenskyy said he has ordered SBU chief Oleksandr Poklad to prepare a response that "mirrors" Russia's attack, with military support. Kyiv's mayor reported two of the injured are in serious condition. The attack follows days of near-continuous aerial assaults on the capital. The strike marks a tactical shift, as Russia has recently launched daytime attacks on Kyiv after months of nighttime raids. Foreign Minister Andrij Sybiha called it a "significant escalation" and a rejection of diplomacy. The SBU headquarters sits near the UNESCO-listed St. Sophia Cathedral.
