Russian drone hits Kyiv's SBU headquarters, injuring five

A Russian drone struck the headquarters of Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) in Kyiv on Friday, injuring five people, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky. The attack came one day after Vladimir Putin spoke about peace prospects. Zelensky said the drone was aimed directly at the office of the SBU's interim chief, Oleksandr Poklad, calling it a major escalation. Foreign Minister Andrii Sibiha urged allies to increase pressure on Moscow, saying the strike devalues diplomacy. Kyiv has faced daily drone attacks for ten days. Putin said Thursday that Russia and Ukraine must ultimately resolve the conflict themselves, adding that a peace deal ending the war is possible. The strike also destroyed a building housing a popular bakery, and a university was hit earlier in the week.
