Russian drone strikes SBU headquarters in Kyiv, injuring seven

A Russian drone struck the headquarters of Ukraine's SBU security service in central Kyiv on Friday, directly targeting the office of its chief, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Seven people were injured in the attack. The strike occurred around 3:30 p.m. local time, causing a fire in the Shevchenko district and destroying a nearby bakery. The SBU chief, Oleksandr Poklad, was not in his office at the time, and emergency services responded to the scene. Zelenskyy vowed a "concrete response" to the attack, while Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called it a significant escalation. The SBU has been a key player in Ukraine's defense, conducting operations deep inside Russia, including the 2022 Crimean bridge explosion.
