Ukraine's forces strike Russian air defense division near Sochi
On the night of September 4, Ukraine's Defense Forces struck a Russian air defense division near Sochi, causing a fire at the military facility. The strike targeted a Russian S-300 or S-400 surface-to-air missile system, located near the village of Sirius by the Psou River on the border with Abkhazia, according to OSINT analysis by the Russian independent outlet ASTRA and monitoring Telegram channels. Local residents reported numerous explosions and a large blaze, with a high column of flames visible for kilometers. A nearby oil depot also caught fire. The Sirius area has been repeatedly targeted by drone attacks. Earlier, local media reported that Russian forces had installed a large radar directly on the beach in the same region, near "Wings of the Baltic" beach.
